PROTECTION PRAYERS

"Father God, please send your Holy Angels to stand guard over me today (tonight). I pray that they will minister to me and remind me of your healing power. Lord please keep me safe from the evil one and strengthen me against all temptations that may come my way. Thank You Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen." (based on Psalm 91)

"Lord God, please surround me with favor as with a shield today. Lord, please strengthen your wall of protection around me, keeping me safe from temptation of the flesh, tricks of the Adversary, and all harm. Lord, please fill my thoughts with Your thoughts and let my words be your words. You are my strength, my shield and my defense, O Lord. Thank You, Lord, in Jesus name I pray, Amen." (based on Psalm 5:12 & Psalm 7:10)

We have found that reciting Psalm 91 as a prayer prior to going to bed each night has helped in establishing God's protective hedge over our homes and families.

The Blood of Jesus Christ is a powerful weapon for protection from the enemy's attacks. The following prayer is a good one to pray before starting the day:

"Lord, I cover myself and everyone around me with the blood of Jesus. I cover all of the members of my family (call them by name) with the blood of Jesus. I cover my home, my land, my car, my finances, my marriage, my ministry, with the blood of Jesus. In the Name of Jesus Christ, by the power of His blood, I break off every power of the kingdom of darkness and cancel every argument in heaven that has established itself against the plans of God in my life and spoil every attack of the enemy. I call forth, in the name of Jesus, all of God's plans and purposes for my life, and my family. As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord. Satan, the blood of Jesus is against you and you have no authority over my life. NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME (OR MY FAMILY) SHALL PROSPER!"

The Power of Prayer

Prayers are powerful and important tool for every Christian. This page is designed to help give some advice to keep your prayers focused and passionate. We hope to provide numerous strategies to liven up your prayer life.

"A little creativity can deepen your talks with God." -Rebecca Brooks

Ways to Pray:

Prayer is very personal experience and unique to each person so we will not be telling you how to pray. However, we hope to offer suggestions you can mix into your routine as you like.

* Try making a prayer calendar. Set aside each day for a different topic: Monday-a sick person, Tuesday-church revival, Wednesday-family, etc.
o You can also add a thankfulness column. Tell something your specifically thankful for each: Monday-your health, Tuesday-Christian fellowship, Wednesday-American freedom
* Journal your prayers But don't just journal requests. Write out questions, heartaches and struggles. Don't forget to journal praises, too. Be creative. Put your prayers into poems. Write a letter to God. Then go back and read your journal entries in a week or a month. There's a good chance you'll be reminded of how God has answered your prayers. And when you're feeling down, your past praises remind you of God's goodness and love for you.
* Take a prayer walk Hike in a forest preserve and praise God for his beautiful creation. Walk around your neighborhood and pray for the family in each home you pass. Or take a "prayer walk" on the sidewalk around your school.
* Pray Scripture Let's say that during your Bible reading time you come across 1 Peter 5:7: "God cares for you, so turn all your worries over to him" (CEV). Turn that verse into a prayer: "Lord, I'm going to trust you and give you all my worries. I know you will take care of me." Do this with Scriptures that express needs and also with those that praise or thank God. Hey, why not personalize the Lord's Prayer? Take each sentence or phrase from this well-known prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) and write it in a way that applies directly to your life.
* Pray about the news. When you read or hear about a troubling issue, pray for the people involved. Pray for politicians and other national and community leaders who make the news.
* Partner up. Find someone to pray with regularly. Plan to meet at a coffee shop once or twice a week, or get together before school. Praying with a friend is great for personal accountability. It's also a cool way to take a friendship to a deeper level.

* Be quiet. If prayer is a conversation, then you also need to listen in silence. And silence means getting away from distractions like music and TV. A quiet, little-used corner at the library could be the best place. As you listen, don't expect to hear a voice. But do expect God to tug at your heart, move your conscience, or help you realize something you need to do or change.
* Keep a prayer on your lips. Dozens of thoughts pass through your mind daily. You daydream. You may think bad or gossipy thoughts. Turn those daydreams and not-so-great thoughts into prayers. Ask God to help a person hurt by gossip. Ask him to forgive you for thoughts that take your mind places it shouldn't go. Turn daydreams and other passing thoughts into moments to recognize God's presence in your life. As you learn to keep a prayer on your lips, you'll come a little closer to understanding what it means to "pray continually" (1 Thessalonians 5:17, NIV).

YOU HAVE THAT POWER

Power is available to you

No matter what your circumstance, power is available to heal your body, rescue a loved one, heal a broken relationship or escape a financial crisis.

Nothing in this world is supposed to have power over you.

Nothing!

Just as the eagle is born to know the freedom of the open skies that it rules over, so too are you -- as a human being -- created to claim the unending freedom of your own higher consciousness.

No person, no situation, no thought or feeling -- not even money problems or poor health -- are meant to hold you back from realizing ultimate success in ANY moment of your life.

I understand that this type of "supreme command" over yourself might sound strange, even fantastic, but it is a REAL possibility. And anyone with the sincere wish to awaken to such a world cannot help but succeed in realizing this newly empowered Life.

The doorway that leads to this new order of your own Higher Self is closer than you think. The key to it lies in discovering, and applying, a special type of knowledge hidden from the masses down through the ages. These "secrets" help you unlock enormous amounts of new life energy lying latent in your mind and heart. This is true Spiritual Power: an unstoppable force that empowers those who learn its secrets to command the moment, and to effortlessly dispel ANY gathering darkness.

Even though these possibilities may seem miraculous, they are actually governed by one of the most basic laws of physics: In our universe, energy cannot be created or destroyed -- but it can be transformed. Our Sun is a perfect example; it transforms lower types of energy (in the form of hydrogen atoms) into a virtually limitless supply of light -- the very highest form of energy in the universe. This "miracle" is accomplished through the amazing, but very real process of stellar fusion.

In much the same way, a process of "spiritual fusion" can take place inside of you. As you begin to tap the well of Spiritual Power in your mind and heart, it seamlessly transforms problems and negativities into higher and higher forms of Light.

"Miraculously":

-- Stress becomes Productivity
-- Worry becomes Awareness
-- Regret becomes Inspiration
-- Conflict becomes Compassion
-- Fear becomes Self-Command

CHRISTIAN TESTING

There is no Christian that does not undergo SPIRITUAL TESTING in life

The purpose of every test is:
* To reveal what we understand
* To reveal what we don't understand
* To reveal to us the applicability of the lesson

Repentance from Sin

Repentance is probably the hardest step toward salvation. Repentance not only requires that we change our attitude about sin but also that we change our actions and walk in the light as Jesus is in the light.

Another part of getting closer to God is being totally open and honest with Him. We do this by repenting—confessing our sins and turning from them. We are commanded to do this:

"He makes them listen to correction and commands them to repent of their evil. If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment. But if they do not listen, they will perish by the sword and die without knowledge." —Job 36:10-12

"Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each one according to his ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, O house of Israel? For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!" —Ezekiel 18:30-32

"From that time on Jesus began to preach, 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.'" —Matthew 4:17

"Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.'" —Acts 2:38-39

"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." —Acts 3:19

"Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by man's design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he e man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead." —Acts 17:29-31

"Jesus answered, 'Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.'" —Luke 13:2-5

"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives." —I John 1:8-10
